The sunflower is our symbol of hope.
The sunflower’s yellow color symbolizes vitality, intelligence, happiness, and friendship. The sunflower turns according to the position of the sun, they track and chase the light. When the sun is covered by clouds and it’s a dark day the sunflowers do not wither and turn their heads to the ground.. during the dark crappy days they turn towards each other and share their energy.
At Avenues of hope we want to be the people and place for the community, where energy is shared, healing takes place and we help each other get through lives hard, dark and crappy days.
We are a local Cache Valley organization that
is here to connect people with mental health resources existing in our community. We want to bring awareness to suicide and provide support for people who have lost loved ones to suicide. Our ultimate goal is to prevent suicide by providing everyone information to connect them to community mental health resources and a supportive community. |
Want to Volunteer?
We are always looking for people or businesses to contribute their own unique gifts to our organization. Some examples of volunteer opportunities are suicide prevention training, organizing events, life coaching, yoga, and compiling resources in the community. |
“I don’t think there’s anything on this planet that more trumpets life than the sunflower. For me that’s because of the reason behind its name. Not because it looks like the sun but because it follows the sun. During the course of the day, the head tracks the journey of the sun across the sky. A satellite dish for sunshine. Wherever light is, no matter how weak, these flowers will find it. And that’s such an admirable thing. And such a lesson in life.”Helen Mirren |
